Northamptonshire Insulation Grants

 

If you live in Northamptonshire you can now benefit from a government backed initiative to have cavity wall insulation and loft insulation installed in your home. If anyone in your home is aged over 70 or if anyone is in receipt of a qualifying benefit, you may even be able to have all work done completely free of charge with a home insulation grant.

The following councils in Northamptonshire are promoting the scheme; Corby Borough Council, Daventry District Council, East Northamptonshire District Council, Kettering Borough Council, Northampton Borough Council, Northamptonshire County Council, Wellingborough Borough

 

Funds are available thoughout Northamptonshire to bring the insulation in private sector homes up to the standard they should be. Many homes built before 1990 may have inadequate insulation and residents could see significant savings on their energy bills by upgrading the insulation. The only qualifing criteria is that you must be a homeower or a private tenant.

 

A survey by Energy Grants Direct, who are a surveying agency for the scheme, will identify if the work needs doing and determine the amount of grant you qualify for. A Home Assessor will then arrange for your property to be registered for the grant as well as arranging an approved contractor to do the work for you.
